May 6 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the death of the Chief Rabbi of Łódź, ELJAHU CHAIM MAJZEL (1821-1912).

A religious commemorative ceremony will be held at the Jewish Cemetery at 1 p.m.

At 5 p.m., two Israeli cantors will perform traditional Chassidic songs. The concert will be held at the newly-renovated building of Dom Towarzystwa Kredytowego at 21 Pomorska Street. Tickets (20 PLN) can be purchased at Strefa Biletów, at 59 Piotrkowska St., phone (42) 632-02-80.
