Dawid Sierakowiak, who died in August 1943, wrote his diary in which he documented the everyday life of Jews locked up in the Litzmannstadt Ghetto. It is one of the most important entries from occupied Łódź and testimony of Holocaust.
On August 8, we will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of Dawid Sierakowiak during a common prayer at his grave at the Jewish cemetery in Łódź.
Together with Rabbi Dawid Szychowski, the prayer will be recited by Marian Turski, a Survivor of the Łódź ghetto and a school friend of Sierakiak.
