„Auschwitz” as a symbol – Jewish trauma and a Polish remembrance

The discussion on 28th January will be focused around the question of how “Auschwitz” as a symbol of holocaust is differently perceived as by Jews and Poles. How this historical memories differ and why. The guests during the meeting will be: Kazimierz Wóycicki (historian at the University of Warsaw, publicist) and Michał Trębacz (historian, The Jewish Research Centre at the University of Lodz, the Institute of National Remembrance). The debate will start at 6:30 pm and will be lead by Mikołaj Mirowski from the Marek Edelman Center for Dialogue.
