On 8th January, a conference "Responsibility to Protect - the Legacy of Jan Karski" and an exhibition called “Jan Karski. The man of freedom” ("The World knew - Jan Karski's Mission for Humanity") were held in the European Parliament.

During the conference the international experts and politicians were debating Jan Karski and his mission from a historical perspective as well as discussing the lesson that we could draw from it. The conference was accompanied by the exhibition about the Jan Karski’s life – the author of the script for the exhibition is the director of the Marek Edelman Center for Dialogue in Lodz – Joanna Podolska. The organizers of the conference and the exhibition were MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski and the director of the Museum of Polish History - Robert Kostro.
